In March 2026, WESPA launched an extension of the TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) family — three new profiles built specifically for hardened alloy steels. For MBT customers, the blades are available directly from the webshop with 24-hour delivery on standard stocked SKUs.
The three new profiles
| Model | Width | TPI | Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| WSP-840 | 54 mm | 2-3, 3-4 | Hardox 400/500, thick plates 50–200 mm |
| WSP-842 | 67 mm | 1.4-2, 2-3 | Toolox 33/44, round bar 80–300 mm |
| WSP-845 | 80 mm | 0.7-1, 1-2 | S690 / S960 large sections, 150+ mm |
Why carbide here
On alloy steels above HRC 30, classic bi-metal blades lose their cost advantage quickly: cycle count drops, hardness variation causes uneven tooth wear, and energy consumption climbs. TCT carbide teeth keep their geometry stable even after 60+ hours of continuous cutting on Hardox, which changes the total cost-per-cut structure entirely.
