The HSFDB-C is Peddinghaus's high-speed answer to high-volume heavy plate production, handling steel plate up to 100 mm thick and roughly 3 m wide. Its 36 kW (48 HP) Siemens spindle motor reaches speeds up to 2250 RPM and drills holes up to 76 mm in diameter while also face milling, end milling and tapping. Thermal cutting is available in both plasma and oxy-fuel, with bevel cuts up to 45 degrees, and the roller-feed measurement system combined with about 12 tons of clamping pressure delivers high repeatability. The CNC control drives a 12-station tool changer, minimum-quantity lubrication and integrated part stamping and marking. Typical throughput is around one ton per hour on material below 25 mm and two tons per hour above 25 mm.
